In 2001, Father Tom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, an incurable, degenerative, Neurological disorder that affects over 1.5 million Americans. Needless to say he was stunned.
Monsignor Thomas Hartman publicly announced he had Parkinson’s disease in November of 2003. In the course of dealing with this disease, he has been inspired by the spiritual example of Pope John Paul II and Reverend Billy Graham. He was directed to the top specialists for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease. His physician said “This disease can be cured with money”.
It became clear to him that God was inviting humanity to find a cure…
Father Tom established the Thomas Hartman Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Inc. in January 2004.
