Father Tom was invited to Cablevision’s News 12 in 1987 to tape a show about Easter and Passover with a local Rabbi named Marc Gellman. That was the beginning of the God Squad. Together with faith and humor they have dealt with complex spiritual questions that people face.

They have appeared regularly on National TV and Radio programs including Imus in the Morning, Good Morning America, and shows hosted by Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, Barbara Walters, Brian Williams, Paula Zahn, Wolf Blitzer, Aaron Brown, Willow Bay, and Catherine Crier.

The Monsignor and the Rabbi have written five books:

“Where does God Live”,
“Lost and Found”,
“Religion for Dummies”,
“Bad Stuff in the News” and
“How do you spell God?”

which became an HBO special. Newsday runs their weekly syndicated column which offers faith filled advice and answers to religious questions. Their memorable invocations are full of ecumenical banter, funny stories and a message of faith.

Due to the debilitating effects of Father Tom's illness, as of Oct. 2007, he has stepped down as co-writer of the "God Squad" Newsday articles.
